We are the only charity dedicated to improving and protecting the beautiful River Eden in Cumbria and its hundreds of miles of tributaries for the benefit of people and wildlife … and we’ve been doing this since 1996.
By changing the way we use, improve and manage our rivers, we believe they can 9support a better future for all. We’re here to rethink rivers for good.
We work in partnership with landowners, organisations and communities to:
Improve the natural processes on land as well as in the river, nurturing wildlife habitats, reducing flood risk and providing cleaner water,
Protect the Eden’s unique and iconic biodiversity, ensuring our native plants and animals survive and thrive, and
Connect people with rivers – increasing understanding of how rivers work, encouraging people’s enjoyment of our amazing wildlife and special places, and inspiring them to take action and help care for Eden’s rivers.
The River Eden is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and is classed by Europe as a Special Area of Conservation.
